The Mission of the Carroll High School Band Department is to use music and excellence to learn how to maximize one’s potential

 

What we do is provide students.... Especially young ones... Opportunities to really begin to understand the joy of making music.

We as a band family provide musical opportunities and memories for hundreds... Maybe thousands of students that they will remember for many, many years to come.

Carroll High School Jazz Cafe

Its that time again. This years Jazz Cafe will be May 6th and seating begins at 5:30pm. Come and see the Inaugural Indiana Jazz Band State Champs performing along with all of Carroll High School Jazz musicians

Frequently Asked Questions about Jazz Café

How does Jazz Cafe work?  We serve a sit-down dinner while the bands are performing. If you aren’t interested in eating dinner, we offer the opportunity for people to just sit in the chairs only section (no tables for eating).  This year’s dinner will be the same as last year: chicken, hash brown casserole, green beans, salad, rolls and also includes dessert and coffee.  There is an option for a gluten-free meal for those who require it.

What groups will perform? All of Carroll’s Jazz Bands will play: Jazz I, Jazz II and Jazz Combo, plus Carroll Middle and Maple Creek Middle’s Jazz bands.

Are children welcome? The event usually lasts about 2 1/2 hours with all the bands.  You know your child best, but very young children might get restless.  There is no student price, the cost is the same for all attendees.

Can we buy dinner and show for some attendees and show only for some and still sit together?  That should work.  We will have little table tents for you to put in front of the show only attendees so that they aren’t served a meal.

Do I need to pay for a meal for my student? No need!  We feed the musicians before they perform.

Some very important dates that everyone will want to make sure is in their calendars!

Percussion Clinics/Auditions (these are for all returning and incoming percussion students)

   May 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 12, 16, 19 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Color Guard Clinics/Auditions (these are for all returning and prospective color guard students)

   May 9, 10, 11, 12 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Fundamentals Week (all winds, percussion and color guard)

  June 6-10 from 6pm - 9pm

  Preview show Friday the 10th 8pm

Guard and Percussion Camps July 11-15

   Guard 5-9pm

   Percussion 6-9pm

Band Camp (some changes - please note!)

   Week 1: July 18-22, 2pm-9pm

   Week 2: July 25-29, 1:30pm-9pm

   Week 3: August 1-4 1:30pm-pm

All of you should have now received a paper explaining how to log into your student's CHARMS account to update your student's information as well as your own. We really need all new families to do this.

We need as much information as you can provide, including t-shirt sizes. Cell phone numbers and carriers help us send out mass texts. Please try to do this soon!

Finally, getting started on forms now would be incredibly helpful in a smooth transition. We ask all incoming students and returners to complete our online forms annually.

Century Resources Spring Fundraiser!

It’s time for this year’s Century Resources Spring Fundraiser! This year’s Century Resources Spring Fundraiser will benefit both you, personally and the program as a whole. 50% of your proceeds raised will go towards our uniform fund in an effort to ensure we can get new uniforms in the near future.
