8th Grade Recruitment

Did you know that every year more than 50% of the 8th grade band chooses NOT to continue on with band in high school? Why is this?

Help solve this riddle by getting involved in the 8th Grade Recruitment committee.

Help the committee chairperson welcome the 8th graders during our invitational. In December, get lists of current 8th graders in band from both Maple Creek and Carroll MS (name, address, phone). Mail out band information letter in January before class sign-ups occur. Help with CHS open house for incoming freshmen, and also with Band Orientation night. Brainstorm other ways to recruit and grow the interest of 8th graders to continue with band at the high school level.
