Jazz Cafe Info

Hello, jazz families! Our annual Jazz Café event is quickly approaching. Jazz Café is both a fundraiser for the program AND a great opportunity for our students to perform in a relaxing, non-competitive environment.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at Jazz Café!

Frequently Asked Questions about Jazz Café

How does Jazz Cafe work?

We serve a sit-down dinner while the bands are performing. If you aren’t interested in eating dinner, we offer the opportunity for people to sit in the chairs only section (no tables for eating). This year’s dinner will be: Bacon Ranch crusted boneless chicken, mashed redskin potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and also includes dessert and coffee, iced tea and lemonade. We will also offer a gluten free menu which will be similar to the menu above with some modifications.

Are children welcome? The event usually lasts about 2 1/2 hours with all the bands. You know your child best, but very young children might get restless. There is no student price, the cost is the same for all attendees.

Can we buy dinner and show for some attendees and show only for some and still sit together? That should work if you have mostly dinner guests and only 1 or 2 show only guests. Otherwise, we will need to keep the seating at the tables to dinner and show guests. There is a separate area for show only seating.

Do I need to pay for a meal for my jazz band student? No need! We feed the musicians before they perform.

Can I turn in my reservation to the band director or the school band box? We ask that you turn in all reservations and payment to the Band Boosters treasurer. That can be done by dropping it in the school band box (at CHS) or mailing it to the address on the form. Please DO NOT give your form to your student or to a band director. This will increase the risk that your reservation won’t be received.

We look forward to seeing you at Jazz Café 2019!
