My name is Ryan Long and I am the color guard director here at Carroll. This is my second year with Carroll and I really couldn’t be more excited about my new endeavor.
Since 2005 I have been heavily involved with marching band and color guard in and around the Fort Wayne area. My passion came early on in my high school career when I was involved with both the winter guard and marching band programs at Woodlan HS. I was even lucky enough to choreograph a portion of the fall show my senior year of high school, not to mention be a part of an ISSMA state championship band. Originally, I was a trumpet player, from then transitioned to baritone and my Junior and Senior years I was the drum major. From there, my passion began to grow at an unfathomable speed; I won’t continue to bore you with all the details.
What do I hope to gain from my experience at Carroll, you ask? Well, to be honest it isn’t about what I want to gain, but what I want your children to gain from me being here. I want them to learn respect for not only themselves, but others. I want them to have a passion about the activity, just as I do. Ultimately, I want them to enjoy their high school career and make memories that will follow them all throughout their adult lives, just as I did.
In my free time, I love to travel with my husband, play sand volleyball and enjoy as much time as I possibly can with our three dogs, Booker, Bentley and Puck.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I greatly appreciate it. If at any time you need to contact me, please do not hesitate to reach me at Ryan.CarrollHS@gmail.com.
