CONCERT BANDS

There are three concert band classes offered at Carroll High School:

  • Advanced Concert Band (Wind Ensemble)

  • Intermediate Concert Band (Symphonic Band)

  • Concert Band

During the fall semester, the Advanced and Intermediate Concert Bands are made up of students who choose to participate in marching band. After the marching band season has ended in November, these students excel in playing in concert band performances such as the Winter concert, Fine Arts Night, ISSMA Concert Band festivals, as well as other concerts. These students may participate in other band activities such as pep band, jazz bands, jazz combos, winter guard, and the musical pit orchestra. The Advanced Band consists of students who have demonstrated an advanced mastery of their instrument. It usually consists of Juniors and Seniors, but Freshman and Sophomores may be asked to join, or may try out for inclusion in this premier concert band.

The Concert Band is for those who choose not to participate in marching band, but still enjoy making music in a concert band setting. They perform at all band concerts, solo & ensemble festival, ISSMA concert band festival, and may participate in other band activities such as pep band, jazz bands, jazz combos, winter guard, and the musical pit orchestra.

Be sure to attend the concert band performances at the Band Extravaganza, Winter Concert, Fine Arts Night, and other concerts throughout the school year, as well as performances at the ISSMA Concert Band events. The talent of these groups of students is amazing!
